Memo

Memo is a light bay/chestnut gelding, about 13hh and 15 or 16 years old. He looks reasonably muscled and slightly overweight, with slight evidence of ‘peachiness’ at rump and cresty neck. He is a children's riding pony who is ridden about three times a week, often on a lead rein. An experienced teenager occasionally rides him. He had become rather grumpy and unwilling to work in the school.

In the sessions, I found he was holding a lot of tension particularly in his neck, back, lumar area and hind quarters. During sessions he released a lot of tension, and after each session he was much more willing to engage in schooling. (... and even more willing to go out on a hack!)

A week or so after the first session, the experienced rider said he had never gone so well before in the school, easily doing transitions into canter that they’d never had from him before.
