2. Talks & Demonstrations

Build a deeper understanding of your horse

Demonstrations

At livery yards, riding club and/or pony club events.

1. Introduction to Equine Shiatsu

A demonstration of a shiatsu session with the opportunity for questions. Requires space — e.g. an arena — where I can demonstrate a shiatsu session on a horse you provide, with room for people to stand or sit and watch.

2. Equine Shiatsu and the 5 Elements

Ideal if participants can attend with their horse or pony. Includes an introduction to Equine Shiatsu and the principles of Yin/Yang and the 5 Elements — at the heart of shiatsu — plus a demonstration of the first of the 12 main TCM meridians, the bladder meridian. Participants characterise their horses into the 5 Elements and Yin/Yang types, and have a go with shiatsu techniques including the bladder meridian. Many owners find it fascinating and useful for understanding how their horse reacts to certain situations.

Talks

These three talks explore topics that are of interest to horse owners and riders. The EMS talk is particularly relevant coming into springtime, when horses are at higher risk from the flush of new grass growth. The Reducing Tension talk is relevant for horse riders and riding club events.

Fascinating Fascia and Shiatsu: West Meets East?

What fascia is, and why it matters for your horse's health, movement and wellbeing — and how Equine Shiatsu can complement veterinary treatment to support recovery, improve movement and performance, and maintain wellbeing. We'll look at exciting research connecting fascia's myofascial lines with the meridians used in shiatsu.

Understanding EMS & How Shiatsu Can Help

A practical look at the multiple risk factors behind Equine Metabolic Syndrome and laminitis, and how diet, management and exercise help keep your horse safe. We'll also explore how Equine Shiatsu can support your horse during and outside a laminitic episode — including Sue's own diploma research on acupressure points for insulin and glucose regulation.

Reduce Tension for Improved Riding

Three practical approaches to dramatically reduce tension — in your horse and in yourself — to unlock better movement, connection and performance. We look at how Equine Shiatsu releases physical tension, and how your own mindset and hidden tension influence your horse, with simple techniques you can use straightaway.

3. Mindset Coaching

For Riders & Horse Owners

121 or group coaching for confidence, resilience, and connection with your horse.

Confidence & Regaining the Joy in Riding

For women returning to riding after a gap — when work, life and/or kids meant horses weren't part of your everyday, and now you have the chance to regain the supreme connection that only horses can give.

Mental Toughness for Competitive Riders

Build your successful edge in competitive equine sports, with practical tools for confidence, focus and resilience under pressure.
